Fran Berger is unquestionably an entertaining dynamo, with an inimitable combination of elegance and edge. After mastering an incredibly successful over 20-year run as the original owner of The Farm of Beverly Hills®, a much-ballyhooed Beverly Hills landmark and Los Angeles area mini-chain of restaurants, where the Cobb Salad and Brownies have become gastronomic staples, Fran has gone on to earn her place in the national spotlight as one of the country's go-to home entertaining experts, becoming a recognizable face on daytime television and in consumer lifestyle media.
Every day after opening the doors to her cherished establishment, Fran had yet another opportunity to do what she loves, entertain others and make them feel at home in her restaurant. While her love of entertaining people has always been intuitive and innate, her expertise has taken years to cultivate and perfect.
Whether serving outstanding dishes to her restaurant guests or hosting intimate or large-scale events for friends, family and even celebrities within her home, Fran has continued to sharpen her craft, as she would her favorite set of kitchen knives. She still carries that torch today, through her namesake lifestyle brand, Home Entertaining & Sophisticated Living with Fran Berger.
It is in this role, as a home entertaining designer and consultant, that Fran's years of knowledge as an established entrepreneur and restaurateur are fused with her love of entertaining. Fran recognized people have so many concerns over entertaining — what to serve, how to serve it, and how to plan overall — making her ability to provide guidance, recommendations, and assistance in curating a personal entertaining style in high demand.
Fran doesn't plan parties. Rather, she works closely with her clients, who like her also enjoy living a sophisticated lifestyle, by helping them curate the perfect bespoke experience for their own guests, reflecting who they are based on their lifestyle, style, and taste. She wants the host to feel completely at ease with grace and confidence in entertaining in their home.
Fran is often praised for her ability to effortlessly host fabulous parties that are actually quite simple, from caviar and champagne soirées to Taco Tuesday dinners. The key is in untangling all of the components and simplifying the process by knowing the simple tricks to take something from fine to fabulous.
Fran knows all of her clients want to impress their guests with sophistication. Those she chooses to work with include some clients who may be just dipping their feet into the shallow end of the pool vis-à-vis entertaining and not sure where to start. They may need help organizing or reorganizing their dining areas after many years in the same home. Or, perhaps maybe those who have just purchased a beautiful new home and are now looking for the perfect refined collection of kitchenware.
Fran works closely with her clients, taking inventory of their interests and sensibilities, and personally shops with and for them, helping them to fill their gorgeous cabinetry with new serving platters, glassware, kitchenware, barware and other entertaining accouterments.
